Where the Inline Tap Is Used in AutoPot Systems

The 6mm inline tap installs in the distribution line between the header tank and one or more AutoPot modules. In a simple two-tap configuration — one tap at the tank outlet and one midway along the distribution line — the grower can isolate any section to add or remove modules, clear a blockage, or clean an AQUAvalve without any water spillage from the pressurised supply line. For larger AutoPot arrays running twenty or more modules, strategic placement of inline taps allows the system to be maintained in sections while the rest continues operating without interruption. The tap’s simple quarter-turn operation means it can be opened and closed with one hand while managing a pot or fitting with the other.

Installation and Flow Direction

The inline tap pushes or screws into the 6mm distribution line at the desired location — ensure the flow direction arrow on the tap body is aligned with the direction of water travel toward the pots. Turn to the closed position (perpendicular to the line) before making any downstream connections or disconnections to prevent spillage. Open fully (parallel to the line) for normal operation. The tap should be accessible without moving pots or ducting — plan your distribution line routing to leave tap positions reachable during the grow. Inspect taps at each cycle for mineral deposits in the valve body that could cause incomplete closure.
