Description
Pure Zym 1 Litre is a professional-grade enzyme supplement designed to break down dead root material, organic matter, and unused sugars in your growing medium — keeping the root zone clean, healthy, and highly oxygenated throughout your entire growth cycle. Enzymes are one of the most underused tools in the UK grower’s arsenal, and Pure Zym delivers them at the concentration and purity level that produces measurable results.
What Enzymes Do in the Root Zone
As plants grow, old root cells die off naturally. In soil and coco, these dead root cells accumulate over time. They provide a habitat for harmful pathogens and bacteria, reduce oxygen availability in the root zone, and can produce compounds that actively inhibit new root growth. Regular enzyme application breaks these dead cells down into simple sugars and amino acids that beneficial microbes can consume and that plant roots can reabsorb as nutrition. This biological housekeeping dramatically reduces the pathogen pressure in your growing medium. Cleaner root zones mean faster growth, more efficient nutrient uptake, and a much lower risk of root disease — one of the most common causes of yield loss in indoor growing environments. We have been advising UK growers on enzyme use since 2017. The results are consistently positive, particularly in multi-run growing systems where the medium is reused between cycles.
When and How to Use Pure Zym
Apply Pure Zym from the early vegetative stage right through to the final flush. It is compatible with soil, coco, clay pebbles, and NFT systems. The standard dosage is 1ml to 2ml per litre of water, applied with each irrigation. In recirculating systems, add to your reservoir at each refill. Enzyme activity requires a pH between 5.5 and 6.5 and a temperature between 15°C and 35°C to remain fully active — both easily achieved in a well-managed indoor grow environment. Pure Zym is compatible with all leading nutrient brands including Canna, Plagron, Athena, and Advanced Nutrients. It is particularly valuable in coco coir, where the fibrous structure can trap organic debris that standard flushing does not fully remove. In hydroponic reservoirs, regular enzyme addition keeps pipework, NFT channels, and reservoir walls cleaner and reduces biofilm formation. This is a professional complement to any nutrient programme and one of those additions that pays for itself through improved plant performance across every run.
