What Makes a Quality Grow Tent?
Not all grow tents are equal. The most important features are canvas thickness, frame strength, internal reflectivity and zip quality. Our tents use 600D Oxford canvas as a minimum, offering genuine light-tight construction and robust tear resistance. Internal linings use 98%+ reflective Mylar to maximise light reaching your canopy and reduce hotspots. Heavy-duty steel poles and reinforced corners ensure the frame supports heavy LED systems, carbon filters and inline fans without bowing.
Zip quality is often overlooked. Poor zips fail quickly and cause light leaks that disrupt photoperiod plants. All tents in our range use heavy-duty two-way zips with smooth action. Look for double-stitched seams and viewing windows with darkened flaps for discreet canopy inspection.
Choosing the Right Tent Size
Matching your tent size to your lighting, extraction and plant count is critical. A 1.2m × 1.2m tent comfortably hosts a 600W HPS or equivalent LED system with 4–6 plants in a Sea of Green setup. A 1.2m × 2.4m tent suits a two-light system or a single large-trained plant. For beginners, a 0.8m × 0.8m or 1.0m × 1.0m tent is ideal — easy to manage, quick to dial in, and efficient to run.
Consider tent height carefully. You need vertical space for your light hang height, the plant itself, and at least 30cm above canopy for heat dissipation. Budget an extra 30cm for carbon filter and fan installation above the canopy.
Reflective Sheeting and Room Conversion
For growers converting dedicated rooms or outbuildings, reflective sheeting offers a cost-effective alternative to tent systems.
