Description
Black and White Reflective Sheeting 5 Metre is a dual-sided grow room lining material with a pure white, high-reflectivity interior face and a 100% light-blocking black exterior, available in a 5-metre roll that is ideal for lining a single grow room wall, covering specific reflective surfaces, or completing smaller installation projects where a full 10-metre roll would provide more material than required. The same professional-grade material used in full grow room installations, offered in a quantity that suits smaller setups and targeted applications.
The Function of Each Face
The white interior face returns photons from your grow lights back toward the plant canopy. Light that strikes an unlined dark wall is absorbed and lost as heat. Light that strikes the white sheeting face is reflected — returning to the growing space where plants can use it for photosynthesis. This recovery of otherwise-lost light effectively increases the productive photon output of your lighting system. In a lined grow room, plants closer to the walls receive meaningful reflected light from the sheeting, improving uniformity across the canopy compared to an unlined space where edge plants are lit only from above. The black exterior prevents any light transmission through the sheeting material. This is essential for maintaining the light-tight conditions that flowering plants require for accurate dark period signals — any light leak during the dark period can interrupt the hormonal processes that drive flower initiation and maintain flowering in photoperiod-sensitive plants. At The Horticulture Company we recommend lining all permanent growing spaces with Black and White sheeting as a fundamental installation step. The improvement in light efficiency and environmental control is immediate and measurable.
5-Metre Roll: Ideal Uses and Installation
The 5-metre roll provides enough material to line one to two standard walls of a grow room, create a reflective backdrop behind a single tent setup, or complete the lining of a smaller growing space. Cut to size with sharp scissors and secure with double-sided tape or staples. Seal all joins with foil tape for a light-tight finish.
