Description
White Lightite Sheeting is a high-reflectivity, single-sided white polyethylene sheeting used to line grow rooms, propagation areas, and hydroponic spaces for maximum light reflection and hygiene. We have been supplying Lightite sheeting to UK growers since 2017 as a cost-effective way to dramatically improve light distribution in any cultivation environment.
Why White Reflective Sheeting Improves Grow Room Performance
Light that escapes to the walls of your grow room is wasted light — energy your plants never receive. White Lightite sheeting reflects a high percentage of incident light back into the growing area, effectively increasing the amount of usable photons reaching your plant canopy without increasing your electricity consumption. In a properly lined grow room, plants at the edges of the space receive significantly more light than in an unlined or black-painted room, leading to more even growth across your entire canopy.
The white surface also offers practical hygiene advantages over reflective silver mylar — white sheeting is easier to clean, less likely to develop hot spots that could stress plants or create fire risk, and more forgiving of small creases and folds that can cause reflective mylar to direct concentrated light in unwanted directions. It is also more durable and resistant to tearing when working in and around the growing space.
Installation and Application
White Lightite sheeting can be cut to size with scissors and fixed to walls, floors and ceilings using cable ties, staples or adhesive tape. It is waterproof and easy to wipe clean between grow cycles — important for maintaining a hygienic environment and preventing the build-up of mould spores, algae or pest vectors on surfaces. It is also commonly used to create DIY propagation tents, light barriers between vegetative and flowering areas, and protective ground covers beneath growing systems.
Available in a range of widths and roll lengths to suit any size of growing space. Pair with quality grow tents for dedicated cultivation areas, or use as a liner within an existing room. An inexpensive upgrade that makes a measurable difference to light efficiency and cleanliness.
