Description
Growers Ark Flush It 5 Litre is a professional nutrient clearing and flushing solution that we have been supplying to UK growers since 2017 for use in the final phase of the growing cycle before harvest. Flushing removes accumulated mineral salts from growing media and plant tissue, improving the final quality and taste profile of the harvested product. Flush It accelerates and improves this process — its chelating and buffering chemistry mobilises locked-in nutrients from the growing medium and plant vascular system more effectively than plain water alone, delivering a faster, more thorough flush in a shorter time window.
Why Flushing Matters for Final Product Quality
Throughout the growing cycle, mineral nutrients accumulate in the growing medium as EC builds between top-ups, and within the plant itself as stored nutrient reserves in leaf tissue and vascular cells. When these reserves are not cleared before harvest, the residual minerals contribute to a harsher taste profile and can affect the burn characteristics of dried material. The final flush — typically 7–14 days of plain water (or flushing solution) before harvest — depletes these reserves and allows the plant to consume its own stored nutrients, resulting in yellowing of lower leaves (a sign of successful nitrogen depletion) and improved aromatic expression as the plant prioritises terpene production in the absence of mineral nutrition. Flush It’s chelating compounds help to mobilise and wash out calcium, magnesium and potassium salts that bond tightly to coco and organic growing media and resist clearance with plain water alone.
Application Rate and Timing
Dilute Flush It at the manufacturer’s recommended rate and apply to your growing medium as you would a normal watering — ensuring thorough saturation and drainage to carry dissolved mineral salts out of the medium. Use in the final 7–14 days before harvest, replacing your normal nutrient feed entirely. Monitor for the characteristic lower leaf yellowing that indicates successful nutrient depletion. The 5-litre size is appropriate for medium to large grow operations with multiple plants or large containers. Pair with a reliable EC meter to verify that runoff EC drops progressively toward tap water EC levels during the flush, confirming effective mineral clearance.
