Description
Drip Clean is a professional dripper and irrigation system maintenance product from House and Garden Nutrients, formulated to prevent and remove the mineral salt deposits and blockages that accumulate in drippers, micro-irrigation fittings, and growing media over multiple feeding cycles. Used regularly throughout the growing cycle, Drip Clean keeps your irrigation system flowing freely, prevents partial blockages that create uneven nutrient distribution across your growing area, and maintains the root zone environment that produces the most vigorous plant performance.
The Problem Drip Clean Solves
Hydroponic and coco growing systems that use drippers and micro-irrigation deliver nutrient solution at high frequency in small volumes — sometimes multiple times per day in automated systems. Each delivery event deposits a small amount of mineral salts in the dripper outlet, micro-tubing, and the surface of the growing medium. Over time, these accumulations narrow dripper orifices, create partial blockages that restrict flow, and build up as a salt crust in the upper portion of the growing medium. Narrowed drippers deliver less solution than their rated flow rate — meaning plants receive inconsistent nutrition if dippers in a multi-plant system are at different stages of blockage. In severe cases, completely blocked drippers leave individual plants without water and nutrition while neighbouring plants continue to receive normal irrigation. Drip Clean prevents this by keeping mineral salts in solution rather than allowing them to precipitate and accumulate. Its chelating components bind to the salt ions that would otherwise form deposits, keeping them mobile in the solution stream and preventing crystallisation at dripper outlets. We recommend Drip Clean as a standard addition to any dripper-based growing system at The Horticulture Company — the maintenance cost is far lower than the productivity losses that dripper blockage causes.
How to Use Drip Clean
Add Drip Clean to your nutrient solution at 0.1–0.4ml per litre throughout the growing cycle. Use at every irrigation in automated dripper systems. It is compatible with all base nutrients and additives and does not affect the pH of the nutrient solution or the availability of plant nutrients in the solution.
