Description

Gavita Master Controller EL2-F Gen2 is a commercial-grade lighting control system that we have been supplying to UK professional growers since 2017 for centralised management of multiple Gavita Pro and compatible grow lights. The EL2-F Gen2 allows a single controller to simultaneously manage light output levels, sunrise/sunset dimming programmes and temperature-based safety dimming across an entire commercial grow room from one central unit — eliminating the need for individual ballast adjustments and providing a professional, automated approach to lighting management that consistently improves both crop quality and energy efficiency.

What the Gavita Master Controller EL2-F Gen2 Controls

The EL2-F Gen2 connects via a Gavita proprietary control cable to all compatible Gavita fixtures in the grow room, addressing them simultaneously from a single interface. Key functions include: stepless output dimming from 50–100% (or 75–100% on some fixtures), allowing light intensity to be matched to canopy development stage without changing lamp or fixture; sunrise and sunset simulation — gradual ramp-up and ramp-down at lights-on and lights-off that reduces plant stress from abrupt lighting transitions; and critical high-temperature safety dimming, where the controller automatically reduces light output if a temperature probe reading exceeds a user-set threshold, protecting both plants and equipment during unexpected heat events. The Gen2 firmware adds improved programming flexibility and extended fixture compatibility over the original EL2.

Connectivity, Compatibility and Installation

The EL2-F Gen2 controls up to 80 Gavita fixtures simultaneously via the Gavita e-series control cable. Compatible fixtures include the Gavita Pro 1000W DE, Pro 1700e LED, Pro 900e LED and other e-series units — confirm fixture compatibility before purchase. The controller mounts on the wall or control panel of the grow room with the temperature probe positioned in the mid-canopy zone. Programme day schedules, temperature thresholds and dimming settings via the front panel. For large multi-room commercial facilities, multiple EL2-F Gen2 units can be deployed independently per room. Pair with Gavita Pro fixtures and a commercial environmental controller for a fully integrated grow room management system.
