Description

AirFan Thermo 315 3250 m³/h is a large-bore, high-performance temperature-controlled EC extraction fan that we have been supplying to UK commercial growers since 2017. With a 315mm bore and 3,250 m³/h maximum extraction capacity, the AirFan Thermo 315 is designed for commercial cultivation facilities where large grow spaces demand high air turnover rates combined with the intelligent automatic climate control of the AirFan Thermo’s integrated thermostat and proportional EC speed control.

Why 315mm Extraction Is the Commercial Standard

As grow room size and lighting wattage increase, the limitations of smaller fan diameters become apparent in both performance and noise. A 315mm fan moving 3,250 m³/h does so at significantly lower air velocity — and therefore lower noise — than a 250mm fan pushing the same volume. For commercial facilities where extraction systems run continuously and staff work in the space daily, noise reduction is both a productivity and welfare issue. The AirFan Thermo 315’s EC motor and proportional thermostat control mean that for the majority of the day — particularly during cooler periods or lights-off — the fan operates well below maximum speed, reducing noise and energy consumption substantially compared to a non-thermostatically controlled unit running at fixed high speed.

Installation and Carbon Filter Pairing

Use with 315mm diameter ducting throughout. The integrated temperature sensor is factory-fitted — no external probe or controller required. Set your target temperature and minimum fan speed on the control panel. For maximum odour control at 3,250 m³/h extraction rates, pair with a large-format carbon filter rated to handle the airflow — a Phresh 315mm filter or equivalent. Add a 315mm acoustic silencer on the exhaust side for further noise attenuation in sensitive environments. Ensure ductwork runs are as short and direct as possible to preserve the full rated airflow through the filter.
