Eazy Plug, originating from the Dutch centre of cultivation technology, is an innovating propagating and growing medium that is truly unique. It comes with predetermined EC and pH levels and self regulates to exactly the right air-to-water ratio. Due to its strongly bonded organic components, there is no necessity for pots or sleeves, thus offering huge hair root structures due to the air pruning effect. With its superb water uptake and uniform moisture distribution, it can be supplied dried, offering a clean lightweight growing medium with an unlimited shelf life.
The tray of 77 format suits growers taking multiple cuttings or starting a batch of seeds at once, rather than the single-plug propagation that smaller packs are designed for — useful for anyone running a perpetual harvest system where a new batch of clones needs to be started every few weeks. Because Eazy Plug arrives with EC and pH already balanced, there’s no need to pre-soak or condition the plugs before use the way you would with rockwool, which typically needs a pH-adjusted soak before cuttings go in. Take your cutting, dip the stem in rooting gel if you’re using one, and insert directly into the pre-formed hole in the plug — no additional preparation required. The self-regulating air-to-water ratio means the medium won’t waterlog even with regular misting, which is one of the more common causes of failed cuttings in less forgiving propagation media. Once roots show through the outside of the plug, it can be transplanted directly into its next medium — soil, coco or a hydro system — without disturbing the root ball, since the plug itself moves with the plant rather than needing to be removed. Store unused plugs in their original packaging in a cool, dry place; the long shelf life means a tray can be kept in reserve for whenever the next propagation cycle starts.
