Description
JELLYFISH 56.7G is the large-format multi-arm air stone designed for oxygenating commercial-scale DWC reservoirs, large RDWC systems, and any high-volume growing application where maximum dissolved oxygen delivery across a large root zone is required. We have been recommending Jellyfish air stones to UK hydroponics growers since 2017 because their radial arm design produces both fine bubbles and wide coverage — the combination that delivers the highest dissolved oxygen efficiency per unit of pump output.
Why the 56.7g Jellyfish Suits Large Systems
At 56.7g the Jellyfish is substantially larger than the 10g version, with more arms and greater diffuser surface area producing a significantly higher bubble output volume. In RDWC systems running a central sump of 200 litres or more, or in large-format single DWC reservoirs with root masses covering the majority of the base, a single smaller air stone leaves the outer portions of the reservoir under-oxygenated. The 56.7g Jellyfish’s extended arm reach covers a much larger footprint, reducing oxygen gradients across the reservoir and ensuring consistent DO levels from the centre to the walls of the container. This is particularly important during hot UK summer periods when oxygen solubility in warm water is already reduced and pythium risk is elevated.
Air Pump Sizing for the 56.7g Jellyfish
The larger diffuser surface of the 56.7g Jellyfish requires a correspondingly larger pump to maintain adequate backpressure and full arm inflation. Use a pump delivering at least 4–6 litres per minute for the full 56.7g unit — an Enviro ET120 or similar twin-outlet pump is appropriate. Pair with 6mm airline for reduced pressure drop over longer runs. Clean with citric acid every four to six weeks to maintain bubble quality from the full diffuser surface area.
Pair the Jellyfish 56.7g with the Enviro ET120 air pump, a large Hailea HX800 recirculating pump, and CANNA Aqua or Advanced Nutrients Sensi base nutrients for a complete, high-performance large-scale DWC growing system.
