Description

WILT GUARD 1L is the specialist plant protection product formulated to prevent and reverse wilting caused by root zone stress — one of the most damaging and difficult-to-diagnose conditions affecting plants in hydroponic and soil growing environments. We have been recommending Wilt Guard to UK growers since 2017 because it addresses pythium, over-watering stress, and root zone oxygen depletion — the cluster of problems responsible for the majority of catastrophic mid-cycle plant losses we hear about from our customers.

How Wilt Guard Protects the Root Zone

Wilt Guard combines a carefully balanced mix of natural beneficial compounds that work on multiple levels in the root zone. It enhances root zone oxygen availability, which suppresses the anaerobic conditions that pythium and other water-moulds require to germinate and spread. It also helps plant cells maintain turgor pressure during periods of water stress — preventing the irreversible cell damage that occurs when wilting is prolonged. Early application at the first sign of wilting, drooping leaves, or soft stems can halt the progression of root disease and give the plant the support it needs to recover, rather than watching it decline over the following days while the cause is diagnosed.

Preventative and Curative Use Protocol

As a preventative, use Wilt Guard at the recommended label dose from early vegetative growth through to the end of flowering, particularly in warmer months when reservoir temperatures rise and pythium risk increases. As a curative application, increase dose rate to the maximum label recommendation and apply daily for three to five days at the first sign of root issues or stem collapse. Always combine curative treatment with reservoir temperature reduction (below 22°C), increased air stone output, and if possible, removal of the worst-affected root tissue before treatment. Compatible with most nutrient programmes including CANNA, Advanced Nutrients, and Plagron systems.
