Description
The Aqua Pot Net is a mesh pot insert designed for use with Autopot systems and similar gravity-fed passive irrigation setups. It sits inside a standard Aqua Pot to contain your growing substrate cleanly, allowing nutrient solution to pass freely through the mesh while keeping growing medium from escaping into the AQUAvalve or base tray. If you use coco, clay pebbles, or a blended substrate in an Autopot system, a net insert like this makes for much cleaner operation and significantly easier repotting at the end of a cycle.
How the Aqua Pot Net Improves Passive System Performance
In gravity-fed systems like the Autopot, the AQUAvalve controls the flow of nutrient solution from the reservoir to the base tray. Without a mesh insert, fine substrate particles — particularly from coco or perlite mixes — can migrate down through the drainage holes and interfere with the valve mechanism over time. The Aqua Pot Net creates a physical barrier that keeps your growing medium in the upper section of the pot, protecting the valve and keeping the base tray clean between reservoir changes.
It also makes end-of-cycle cleanup considerably quicker. Because the substrate is contained within the net, it lifts out in one piece rather than being tipped loose — reducing mess and making it easier to clean and reuse pots between grows.
Compatible Systems and Substrate Types
The Aqua Pot Net is sized for use with standard Autopot modules and is suitable for clay pebbles (Hydrocorn or similar), coco coir, perlite, and blended growing media. It is not recommended for very fine substrates such as pure peat or Rockwool crumble, which can pass through the mesh rather than being retained.
If you are running multiple Autopot modules, it is worth keeping a stock of net inserts so that pots can be cleaned and replanted quickly between cycles without waiting for nets to dry out fully.
