Big Bud Liquid by Advanced Nutrients is one of the best-selling bloom boosters in the UK grow shop market, and for good reason. This PK-forward (NPK 0-1-3) liquid formulation is specifically designed to maximise flower development during the mid-to-late flowering stage, combining elevated phosphorus and potassium levels with a concentrated amino acid profile to drive genuine increases in flower weight and density.

Phosphorus is the primary fuel for flower development — it drives the energy transfer processes (ATP synthesis) that power bloom initiation and flower set. Potassium works alongside it to regulate stomatal function, improve nutrient uptake efficiency, and strengthen cell walls within developing buds. Big Bud Liquid delivers both in ratios calibrated to complement rather than overwhelm your base nutrient programme, making it compatible with the full Advanced Nutrients line as well as most leading third-party base nutrients.

The inclusion of L-form amino acids gives Big Bud Liquid a second mechanism of action. Amino acids are the structural building blocks of plant proteins and enzymes, and supplying them in pre-chelated form reduces the energy plants must spend synthesising them from raw nitrogen inputs. That saved energy gets redirected into flower production — a measurable benefit during the high-demand mid-bloom phase when plants are supporting the heaviest metabolic load of the entire cycle.

Use Big Bud Liquid from week two of flowering through to the final two weeks before harvest, at a typical dose of 2-4 ml per litre depending on the stage of the cycle. It stacks well with Overdrive as a finishing accelerator and Bud Candy as a carbohydrate and flavour enhancer. Avoid exceeding recommended doses — at high concentrations any PK product risks potassium toxicity symptoms, particularly when combined with similarly elevated base nutrients.
