CANNA AQUA VEGA A&B 5 LITRE is the vegetative-phase base nutrient from CANNA’s professional Aqua range, specifically developed for recirculating hydroponic systems including NFT, DWC, and RDWC. We have been recommending CANNA Aqua Vega to UK hydroponics growers since 2017 because its formulation is designed from the ground up for the chemical stability demands of recirculating systems — where nutrient solution must remain consistent over multiple days between reservoir changes without precipitation or pH instability.

CANNA Aqua Vega’s Recirculating System Chemistry

Recirculating systems expose nutrient solution to continuous circulation, pumping, and aeration, all of which can accelerate pH drift and mineral precipitation in poorly formulated nutrients. CANNA Aqua Vega uses chelated mineral forms and a buffering chemistry that maintains solution stability over a longer window than standard soil or coco nutrients, reducing the frequency of reservoir changes and pH corrections needed in active systems. The vegetative-phase macronutrient ratio emphasises nitrogen and secondary nutrients for rapid canopy development, building the stem structure and leaf area that supports heavy flowering performance when the photoperiod is switched. The 5-litre twin pack provides excellent volume for a full vegetative cycle in a system running 100–200 litres of reservoir capacity.

Feeding Schedule and Reservoir Management

Begin CANNA Aqua Vega from the first day plants enter the main growing system after propagation. Use 3ml per litre of each part in early veg (EC 1.4–1.6 from RO water), stepping up to 4ml per litre per part as the plant develops (EC 1.8–2.2). Always add Part A to the reservoir first, circulate, then add Part B. Change the reservoir completely every 7–10 days in recirculating systems to prevent salt accumulation and organic matter build-up. Monitor EC and pH daily. Switch to CANNA Aqua Flores A&B when plants begin the flowering photoperiod.
