Description

Flower B is one half of a two-part bloom nutrient system. Two-part formulations separate their chemical components to prevent incompatibilities in the concentrate — certain calcium and phosphate compounds would precipitate if stored together in a single bottle. Part A typically carries calcium and some nitrogen; Part B carries phosphorus, potassium, and the bloom-phase secondary elements. The two parts only combine in the final diluted solution where concentrations are too low for precipitation.

Mix Part A and Part B separately into your water — add one, stir, then add the other. Never mix the two concentrates together directly. Target EC will depend on your specific programme and the crop stage; for established flowering plants, typical targets run 1.8–2.4 mS/cm. Check that you have the matching Part A before purchasing.

Two-part systems give more control than a single all-in-one formula because you can adjust the ratio between Part A and Part B in response to how your specific crop and water source behave, rather than being locked into a single fixed ratio — useful when fine-tuning for a particular strain or growing medium that responds differently to the standard programme. Always check you’re using the correct pairing before mixing, since Part A and Part B from different product lines aren’t formulated to work together even if the naming looks similar. Store both parts in a cool, dark location, since concentrated nutrient solutions can degrade with heat and light exposure over time, particularly once opened and exposed to air repeatedly across a growing season. If you notice any precipitate or cloudiness forming in either bottle before mixing, this typically indicates the concentrate has been exposed to unsuitable storage conditions, even though the two parts are only meant to combine in the final diluted solution.

Keep the matching Part A close at hand when mixing, and always add each part to your water separately rather than pre-mixing the two concentrates in a jug, which is the most common way growers accidentally cause precipitation before the solution even reaches the reservoir.

At a glance:

  • Part B of a two-part bloom nutrient system
  • Carries phosphorus, potassium and bloom-phase elements
  • Mix separately from Part A before combining in water
  • Typical flowering EC target: 1.8–2.4 mS/cm
