Description

AirFan Thermo 250 2500 m³/h is a large-bore, high-output temperature-controlled EC extraction fan that we have been supplying to UK commercial growers since 2017. Combining a 250mm fan diameter with a 2,500 m³/h maximum extraction capacity and the AirFan Thermo’s intelligent built-in thermostat, this unit is engineered for large commercial grow rooms where a combination of high airflow and automatic climate control is required. The 250mm bore delivers the same 2,500 m³/h as the 200mm high-output model but with significantly lower resistance and noise — an important consideration in large permanent installations.

The Advantage of 250mm Bore at 2500 m³/h

The relationship between duct diameter and static pressure is a fundamental principle of fan system design. At a given airflow rate, a larger diameter duct carries air at lower velocity — lower velocity means less turbulence, less friction loss and dramatically reduced noise. The AirFan Thermo 250 achieves 2,500 m³/h at a lower fan RPM compared to a 200mm fan delivering the same volume, which means it operates more quietly, consumes less energy at equivalent output and places less mechanical stress on the motor and bearings. For permanent commercial installations where the fan runs continuously for months or years, this lower-stress operating profile translates directly into longer service life and lower running costs.

Installation and Compatibility

The AirFan Thermo 250 uses 250mm ducting throughout and the integrated thermostat requires no external controller or probe — set your target temperature on the unit and it manages fan speed automatically in response to grow room conditions. For large commercial rooms, the wider 250mm ducting also allows a larger carbon filter to be used, improving odour removal efficiency at high airflow rates. Pair with a Phresh 250mm carbon filter and a CAN Silencer 250mm for a complete, low-noise, high-volume commercial climate and odour management system.
