AirFan Thermo 250 4250 m³/h is a high-output temperature-controlled EC extraction fan that we have been supplying to UK commercial growers since 2017. This is the most powerful variant in the 250mm AirFan Thermo range, delivering 4,250 m³/h of maximum extraction capacity with the intelligent thermostat and proportional speed control that characterises the entire Thermo series. It is designed for large commercial grow spaces where a high air exchange rate is required but where infrastructure constraints — existing 250mm ductwork or filter housing — make stepping up to 315mm impractical.
Maximising Airflow Through 250mm Infrastructure
Commercial growers who have invested in 250mm ducting infrastructure often find that as their operations scale and heat loads increase, they need more extraction capacity without the cost and disruption of replacing all their ductwork with larger diameter runs. The AirFan Thermo 250 at 4,250 m³/h extracts the maximum physically achievable volume through a 250mm bore at practical static pressures — there is no equivalent output available in this diameter from alternative manufacturers without significant noise and efficiency penalties. The EC motor’s high efficiency at variable speeds means that for much of the operation, the fan runs at 50–70% of maximum output, providing a quieter and more energy-efficient extraction profile than a motor running at fixed high speed to achieve the same average throughput.
Installation Notes and System Compatibility
Use with 250mm ducting and a 250mm carbon filter rated for 4,000+ m³/h — an undersized filter will significantly restrict airflow. The integrated thermostat sets automatically; no external controller is needed. For best performance, keep ductwork runs short and minimise bends. Pair with a Phresh 250mm carbon filter and a 250mm acoustic silencer for a complete high-volume commercial extraction system within standard 250mm infrastructure.
