Description

Correx is a twin-wall polypropylene sheet material — lightweight, waterproof, and chemically inert. The Correx GT100 top plate provides the same channel-covering function as the moulded GT top plates but in a lighter, lower-cost format. The twin-wall structure maintains rigidity across the channel width while the smooth surface is easy to clean between cycles.

Correx plates are particularly useful when frequent replacement is preferable to intensive cleaning — the lower cost per unit makes a dispose-and-replace approach more economical than with heavier moulded alternatives. The GT100 format fits the 100mm Growing Technologies channel. Cut carefully at the plant site holes to maintain a clean fit around each stem.

NFT and flood systems using the 100mm Growing Technologies channel rely on a top plate to do two jobs at once — sealing the channel to prevent light reaching the nutrient solution (which drives algae growth) and providing a stable surface for plant sites along the run. Correx does this at a lower cost than the moulded GT top plates, which makes it a practical choice for growers running multiple channels or expanding a system, where the cost difference across several plates adds up. The trade-off is durability rather than function: Correx plates are more suited to being replaced periodically than to indefinite reuse, so factor that into planning if you’re setting up a system intended to run for years without interruption. Cut plant site holes with a sharp blade or hole cutter sized to your net pot diameter, working from the underside where possible to avoid tearing the twin-wall structure. Clean between cycles with a mild disinfectant rather than abrasive scrubbing, which can damage the smooth surface that makes cleaning straightforward in the first place.

Keep a few spare plates in stock if you’re running a system commercially, since the lower unit cost compared with moulded plates makes it practical to hold spares for quick replacement rather than waiting on a reorder mid-cycle. Store flat to avoid warping before use.
