Description

Standard mechanical timers work in 15- or 30-minute increments. That’s fine for photoperiod control but inadequate for irrigation timing in recirculating systems where you might want to run a pump for 3 minutes every 2 hours, or for CO2 enrichment cycles that need to fire at precise intervals during lights-on. The Imperium Minute Timer programs in 1-minute increments across 24 hours, giving you the precision that environmental and irrigation management in a proper grow room requires.

Multiple daily on/off events can be programmed independently — set a flood cycle, a fan override, or a CO2 pulse at the precise interval your system needs. The digital display makes programming straightforward compared with the analogue pin systems on mechanical timers. The RECON variant includes the timer body and all necessary components for direct installation.

The gap between mechanical and digital timer precision matters most in applications where short, precise cycles are the point rather than a rough approximation — CO2 enrichment during lights-on hours is a good example, where a burst that’s a few minutes longer or shorter than intended either wastes gas or under-doses the space, and a mechanical timer’s 15-minute resolution simply can’t hit the target reliably. The same applies to ebb-and-flow or recirculating irrigation systems designed around short, frequent pump cycles, where minute-level control determines whether the medium gets the intended wet/dry cycling or ends up over- or under-watered relative to the system’s design. Because the Imperium timer supports multiple independent daily events, it can run more than one function from a single unit — for example, a short irrigation pulse and a separate CO2 burst at different times of day — reducing the number of separate timers needed in a room running several time-based systems.

Keep the unit’s manual on hand even after initial setup, since occasional reprogramming — adjusting a cycle length as a system changes, for example — is easier with the instructions to hand than working from memory months after the original installation.

At a glance:

  • Programs in 1-minute increments across 24 hours
  • Multiple independent daily on/off events
  • Suited to CO2 enrichment and irrigation cycling
  • Digital display for straightforward programming
