Description
Ionic Hydro Bloom is Growth Technology’s single-part base nutrient for the flowering and fruiting stage of hydroponic growing on inert media including clay pebbles, rockwool, and similar substrates. It delivers the elevated phosphorus and potassium profile that flowering plants demand while maintaining all essential micronutrients in a stable, single-bottle formulation. Ionic Hydro Bloom is the bloom-phase companion to Ionic Hydro Grow, and together they provide a complete two-stage nutritional programme for recirculating and run-to-waste hydroponic systems.
Meeting the Nutritional Demands of Flowering in Hydroponics
When plants transition from vegetative to generative growth, their nutritional priorities shift substantially. The high nitrogen levels that drove rapid leaf and stem growth during veg are no longer appropriate — excess nitrogen during flowering suppresses the hormonal signals that drive flower and fruit development and delays harvest. Ionic Hydro Bloom reduces the nitrogen fraction relative to phosphorus and potassium, providing the bloom-appropriate nutrient balance that flowering plants need to perform at their potential. The phosphorus and potassium concentrations in Ionic Hydro Bloom support the intensive metabolic demands of flower development — phosphorus for energy transfer and cell division in developing buds, potassium for water regulation, enzyme activation, and the accumulation of the complex compounds that determine final product quality. Growth Technology has calibrated these ratios through extensive practical trials. We have been recommending the Ionic range to hydroponic growers at The Horticulture Company since 2017 and the results consistently validate the formulation.
Dosage, pH Management, and Practical Tips
Use Ionic Hydro Bloom at 4–7ml per litre of nutrient solution. Begin using it as soon as plants commit to flower — when buds are visibly forming and the generative growth pattern is established. Adjust pH to 5.8–6.2 for optimal nutrient availability in inert media. In recirculating systems, top up the reservoir regularly with fresh Ionic Hydro Bloom solution rather than allowing the reservoir to dilute over time as plants consume nutrients. Monitor EC and pH daily — flowering plants consume water and nutrients at different rates, which can cause both parameters to drift if not managed actively.
