OXYPOT SWIVEL ELBOW ASSEMBLY is the replacement and upgrade fitting for the Nutriculture Oxypot DWC system’s air distribution outlet, allowing the air stone supply line to be positioned and directed precisely within the reservoir for optimal bubble distribution across the root zone. How the Swivel Elbow Improves Air Distribution

In a DWC reservoir, the position and direction of the air stone relative to the root mass determines how effectively dissolved oxygen is distributed through the full volume of nutrient solution. A fixed elbow fitting constrains the air stone to one position — adequate but not optimal for all root configurations. The swivel elbow allows the air outlet to be rotated through 360 degrees and angled up or down, so growers can direct the rising bubble column precisely toward the centre of the developing root mass as it grows through the season. This adjustment capability is particularly valuable as root volume increases through the vegetative phase and the original fixed position becomes suboptimal relative to the root distribution.

Fitting and Use

The swivel elbow assembly connects to the Oxypot’s internal air distribution point using the standard fitting that the original elbow occupies — no modification or additional parts required. Connect 4mm airline from your air pump to the inlet of the swivel elbow, then rotate the outlet to the desired direction and angle before fitting the air stone to the outlet. Tighten the swivel lock (if present) to maintain the chosen position during operation. Clean the fitting at each cycle changeover to remove mineral deposits from the pivot point that can cause the swivel to stiffen over time.
