CAN-Fan Q-Max EC 200 1203 m³/h is a premium EC inline fan from CAN-Fan’s Q-Max range that we have been supplying to UK indoor growers since 2017. Combining CAN-Fan’s renowned build quality with the efficiency and variable-speed capability of an electronically commutated (EC) motor, the Q-Max 200 delivers 1,203 m³/h of extraction through a 200mm bore with the low energy consumption, quiet operation and precise speed controllability that have made EC fans the preferred choice of serious growers across the UK and Europe.

Why EC Motor Technology Defines the Q-Max Range

Traditional AC inline fans run at a fixed speed determined by their motor winding and the supply frequency. Reducing speed requires a triac-based speed controller that introduces harmonic distortion, wasted heat and potential motor stress. EC motors, by contrast, use brushless DC technology with onboard electronics that precisely regulate rotor speed via a digital control signal. This means the Q-Max EC can be run at any speed from minimum to maximum with no heat waste, no harmonic noise and no motor stress — the motor’s efficiency remains high across the full speed range. At 50% speed, an EC fan consumes roughly 12% of its full-speed power consumption (following the fan law cube relationship), making part-speed operation dramatically more economical than running a full-speed fan against a throttled valve. The Q-Max 200’s 1,203 m³/h capacity is measured at full EC speed, providing excellent headroom for medium-large grow rooms.

Speed Control, Compatibility and System Pairing

The Q-Max EC accepts external speed control via a compatible CAN-Fan controller such as the CAN-Fan 4 Amp Satellite Controller or QMax Speed and Temperature Controller, allowing fully automated climate-responsive speed adjustment without manual intervention. Install inline on 200mm ductwork and pair with a Phresh 200mm carbon filter and CAN Silencer 200mm for a complete, quiet, professionally managed extraction system.
