Remo Magnifical is a calcium and magnesium supplement from Remo Nutrients that we have been supplying to UK growers since 2017 for use in coco coir, hydroponic and soft water soil growing where background calcium and magnesium supply is insufficient to meet the plant’s requirements. Calcium and magnesium deficiencies are among the most common nutritional problems in controlled-environment growing — Remo Magnifical provides a clean, highly soluble source of both elements that integrates seamlessly into the full Remo nutrient programme and prevents the deficiency symptoms that compromise growth rate and final product quality.

Calcium and Magnesium: Why They Are So Frequently Deficient

Calcium is a structural element — it forms the pectin matrix of cell walls and the middle lamella that bonds adjacent cells together. Adequate calcium is essential for firm tissue, strong stems and the prevention of blossom end rot and tip burn in rapidly expanding growing points. Magnesium is the central atom of every chlorophyll molecule — without it, photosynthesis simply cannot occur. In coco coir, both elements are actively sequestered by the substrate’s cation exchange capacity before they reach the plant. In soft water or RO water, the near-zero background calcium and magnesium means the nutrient solution alone must supply 100% of requirements. Remo Magnifical delivers both elements in ionic form alongside a supporting trace element profile that ensures calcium and magnesium uptake is not impaired by competing cation imbalances.

Application Rate and Integration with Remo Nutrients

Use Remo Magnifical at 1–2 ml per litre throughout all growth stages — from early propagation through to late flowering. In coco coir, always add Magnifical to the reservoir before base nutrients to pre-charge the solution. In soft water and RO growing, start at 2 ml per litre and adjust based on plant response. Reduce the dose if calcium or magnesium excess symptoms appear (dark leaf margins, yellowing new growth). Pair with Remo Bloom and Remo AstroFlower for a complete Remo flowering programme, and combine with Remo Nutes Micro for a full-spectrum mineral approach across the entire growing cycle.
