Description
Round Pot is the standard growing container used across all indoor cultivation styles — soil, coco, and general hydroponic setups — providing the contained root volume and drainage characteristics that underpin every pot-based growing system. We have been supplying growing containers to UK cultivators since 2017 in a wide range of sizes to suit every plant size, growing style and growing system configuration.
Choosing the Right Pot Size for Your Plants
Pot size directly determines the ceiling of your plant’s growth potential. Too small a pot restricts root development and causes the plant to become root-bound — a condition where roots are so dense that they cannot expand further, nutrient and water uptake becomes inefficient, and plant growth slows dramatically regardless of feeding intensity. Too large a pot in the early stages of growth holds more moisture than a small plant can consume, creating waterlogged conditions that reduce root zone oxygen and encourage root disease. Matching pot size to plant size at each stage of development is fundamental to maximising growth performance.
As a general guideline for indoor growing: seedlings and young cuttings suit 1–2 litre pots for the first two to three weeks; small to medium vegetative plants suit 3–6 litres through the rest of the veg phase; and flowering plants are typically transferred to 10–25 litre containers depending on the size of the plant and the desired final pot volume. Larger pots allow larger plants and are appropriate for longer vegetative periods or larger-format growing approaches.
Material, Drainage and Maintenance
Quality round pots are manufactured from food-grade, UV-stabilised plastic with adequate drainage holes at the base to prevent waterlogging. Clean between grows with dilute bleach or hydrogen peroxide solution to eliminate pathogen residue from previous cycles. Pair with matching round saucers to catch drainage water and facilitate runoff monitoring during hand-watered grows.
Available in sizes from 1 litre up to 25 litres. Compatible with soil, coco, perlite and all standard growing media. A fundamental growing accessory for any indoor cultivation setup.
