Description
SunBlaster LED Propagation Light is a compact, low-heat full-spectrum LED strip light designed specifically for seedlings, cuttings and early vegetative growth. We have been recommending SunBlaster propagation lighting to UK growers since 2017 as an energy-efficient and reliable solution for the critical early stages of plant development when providing the right spectrum and intensity of light makes a significant difference to long-term plant health.
Optimised Spectrum for Propagation and Early Growth
The SunBlaster LED delivers a full-spectrum output tuned for photosynthetically active radiation in the 400–700nm range, with particular emphasis on the blue wavelengths (450–460nm) that drive compact, sturdy vegetative growth. Unlike high-power grow lights that would burn tender seedlings and young cuttings at close range, the SunBlaster LED is designed to sit close to the plant canopy — typically 5–15cm — delivering sufficient intensity for strong growth without heat stress or light burn.
The low-profile strip format allows multiple units to be daisy-chained and positioned across the full length of a propagation tray or seedling shelf, ensuring even light distribution across all your cuttings or seedlings simultaneously. This eliminates the uneven growth and stretching that occurs when plants at the edges of a propagation area receive less light than those in the centre.
Energy Efficiency and Heat Management
Running at a fraction of the wattage of HID or high-power LED fixtures, the SunBlaster LED produces minimal heat — an important characteristic in propagation environments where maintaining a stable 22–25°C is critical for root development. It can be run continuously for 18–20 hours per day without significantly raising ambient temperature in your propagation area.
Ideal for use with propagators, clone domes, seedling trays and early vegetative shelving systems. Pair with a quality propagation medium, rooting gel and a humidity dome for best results. A well-designed and practical propagation light for serious UK growers.
