How to Use Remo Micro

Remo Micro is the constant in the Remo Nutrients three-part system — while Remo Grow is phased out when flowering begins and Bloom is introduced, Micro runs the full length of the grow from first true leaves to harvest. That’s because it delivers the chelated micronutrients and trace elements that plants need at every growth stage, and its chelating agents serve a critical function: they keep nutrients in plant-available form and prevent the kind of ion interactions that lock out essential elements when multiple compounds are mixed together. If you’re running the Remo system, Micro is the component you should never skip.

What Does Remo Micro Do?

Remo Micro supplies a concentrated blend of chelated micronutrients — iron, manganese, zinc, copper, boron, and molybdenum — alongside specialist chelating agents that improve how plants absorb nutrients across the full EC range. These elements are often overlooked in discussions about plant nutrition, but they’re essential to virtually every biological process that matters:

Chelation is what makes all of these available in solution. Unchelated metal ions are prone to precipitating out of solution or becoming locked up at pH boundaries, making them inaccessible to roots. Remo Micro’s chelating agents keep them dissolved and plant-available across a wide pH range, which is why Micro is added to the reservoir first before other nutrients — to stabilise the solution before Grow or Bloom is introduced.

Remo Micro Dosage

Remo Micro is used throughout the entire growing cycle, with dose adjusted by growth stage:

These ranges work in combination with Remo Grow during veg and Remo Bloom during flower. Follow Remo’s official feeding chart to ensure the correct ratios between all three components at each growth stage — the system is designed to work as a balanced whole.

Mixing Order — Critical

Always add Remo Micro to your reservoir or mixing container first, before any other nutrients. This is not just a recommendation — it’s essential to the system working correctly. Adding Grow or Bloom before Micro can cause calcium precipitation and reduce the availability of multiple elements in your final solution. The correct mixing order is:

  1. Start with clean water
  2. Add Remo Micro — mix well
  3. Add Remo Grow (veg) or Remo Bloom (flower) — mix thoroughly
  4. Add any additives (Magnifical, AstroFlower, VeloKelp, etc.)
  5. Check EC
  6. Adjust pH last — target 5.5–6.1 for hydro/coco, 6.0–6.5 for soil

Compatible Growing Systems

Remo Micro is fully water soluble and suitable for all growing methods:

Remo Micro and Remo Magnifical Together

Many growers using the Remo system also run Remo Magnifical alongside Micro. The two complement each other well: Micro handles trace elements and chelation, while Magnifical adds calcium, magnesium, and organic acids. Together they form a very complete micronutrient foundation for the whole grow. If you’re in a soft water area or running RO water, both products become particularly important.

Available Sizes

Remo Micro is available in 500ml, 1 litre, 5 litre, and 10 litre. Because Micro is used throughout the entire grow cycle at doses of up to 6ml/L, consumption is higher than stage-specific additives. Most growers running a medium-sized indoor space will find the 5L the most practical size for regular use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I add Remo Micro before the other nutrients?

Remo Micro contains chelating agents that stabilise the solution and keep nutrients in plant-available form. Adding Grow or Bloom first — particularly into hard water — can cause calcium or iron to precipitate before Micro has a chance to chelate them. Always Micro first, every time.

Can I use Remo Micro without Remo Grow or Remo Bloom?

Micro is a micronutrient supplement, not a complete base nutrient on its own. It doesn’t contain sufficient nitrogen, phosphorus, or potassium to feed plants independently. It’s designed to work within the Remo three-part system or as a micronutrient addition to another brand’s base nutrient if needed.

Is the dose different for hydroponics versus soil?

The label dose range applies to both systems, but the right point within that range may differ. Hydro growers often find they can run toward the higher end of the range due to the precision of solution-based feeding, while soil growers typically use the mid-range and allow the medium to buffer between feeds. Monitor leaf colour and overall plant health to fine-tune your dose.

Does Remo Micro work with nutrients from other brands?

Remo Micro can be used as a standalone micronutrient supplement alongside another brand’s base nutrient if you want to add chelated trace elements to an otherwise adequate feed schedule. Check that your base nutrient doesn’t already provide the same trace elements at similar concentrations to avoid over-supply of individual elements like iron or manganese.
