Reflective sheeting is the most cost-effective way to convert any room, cupboard or outbuilding into a productive, light-efficient growing environment. Rather than confining your grow to a tent, reflective sheeting transforms bare walls and ceilings into highly reflective surfaces that return light to your canopy — dramatically improving light utilisation and reducing the energy wasted on illuminating non-productive surfaces.
Mylar Reflective Sheeting
Mylar (aluminised PET film) delivers approximately 97% reflectivity and is the most widely used reflective material in indoor growing. It is lightweight, easy to cut and hang, and reflects light without creating significant hotspots when installed correctly. The key to effective Mylar installation is keeping the surface as flat and smooth as possible — wrinkles and folds create multiple reflection angles that reduce effective reflectivity and produce uneven canopy light distribution.
For most applications, fix Mylar to walls using double-sided tape, adhesive hooks or a thin timber batten frame. Leave a slight tension in the sheet to minimise wrinkling. Replace Mylar if it becomes torn, heavily creased or dull — degraded reflectivity significantly reduces the effectiveness of your lighting.
White Poly and Foylon Sheeting
White poly sheeting offers slightly lower overall reflectivity than Mylar (around 85–92%) but produces a more diffuse, even light reflection that reduces hotspots. It is tougher and more tear-resistant than Mylar, making it better suited to larger rooms or areas where physical contact is more likely. Foylon combines the reflectivity of Mylar with the durability of a fabric backing — popular in commercial-scale conversions.
We stock reflective sheeting in roll lengths suitable for single rooms through to large-scale commercial installations. Our team has been helping UK growers optimise light efficiency since 2017. Browse the full reflective sheeting range below.
