Unlike standard cloth or plastic tape, aluminium foil tape creates a fully airtight, moisture-resistant and light-reflective seal that maintains its bond in the warm, humid grow room environment without lifting, peeling or losing adhesion over time. It is the professional standard for all ducting connections and repairs in extraction systems where airtight joins are essential for maintaining extraction efficiency.

Where Aluminium Tape Is Indispensable in the Grow Room

Grow room ducting connections are a major source of air leaks that reduce extraction system performance — a join that allows 20% of extracted air to bypass the fan reduces the effective extraction rate by the same proportion, directly compromising temperature and humidity management. Cloth tape degrades in warm, humid air; plastic tape loses adhesion as the duct expands and contracts with temperature changes. Aluminium tape bonds permanently to metal spiral duct, flexible duct, plastic fittings and tent fabric, maintaining an airtight seal across the full temperature and humidity range of a grow room environment. Beyond ducting, aluminium tape is used for patching small tears in grow tent fabric (preventing light leaks), reinforcing fan and filter connection points, attaching temperature probes and humidity sensors, and reflecting light from previously dark areas of the grow room onto the canopy from below or at angles.

Application and Compatibility

Clean and dry all surfaces before application — aluminium tape adhesion is significantly improved on clean, dry substrates. Press firmly along the full length of the tape after application to ensure full adhesive contact with the substrate. Use to seal all ducting joins in your extraction system — both at the carbon filter connection, fan inlet and outlet, and all intermediate duct couplings. A single roll provides sufficient tape for a complete grow room ductwork installation with significant material remaining for repairs. Compatible with all standard 100–315mm aluminium spiral ducting, flexible ducting, and grow tent fabrics.
