AUTOPOT XL BASE TRAY is the larger-format pot tray for the AutoPot XL growing module, designed to accommodate larger containers and support the root zone of vigorous, full-sized fruiting and flowering plants through a complete growing cycle. How the XL Base Tray Supports Larger Plant Growing

The AutoPot system works by maintaining a shallow layer of nutrient solution in the base tray via the AQUAvalve — the tray fills to a few centimetres depth when the plant has consumed the previous supply, then the valve closes until the tray is dry again. This wet-dry cycling drives both nutrient uptake and root oxygenation simultaneously, producing the dense, fibrous root systems that AutoPot growers are known for achieving. The XL base tray provides a larger surface area under the pot, ensuring the nutrient film is distributed evenly under the base of a larger container without pooling unevenly at one end. It is compatible with the full range of larger pot sizes used in AutoPot XL configurations.

System Compatibility and Setup

The AutoPot XL Base Tray connects to the standard 6mm AutoPot distribution line via the AQUAvalve fitting. Position the tray on a level surface — even a slight tilt affects AQUAvalve operation and causes uneven tray filling. Confirm the AQUAvalve is seating correctly before filling the header tank for the first time. Check tray level at each growing cycle setup; uneven floor surfaces under tents can develop over time as pots are moved and equipment weight redistributes. Keep the tray interior clean between cycles to prevent algae and salt build-up around the AQUAvalve housing.
