Description

AirFan Thermo 200 1000 m³/h is a temperature-controlled EC inline fan that we have been supplying to UK commercial and serious hobby growers since 2017. Combining a high-efficiency EC motor with an integrated thermostat, the AirFan Thermo 200 automatically adjusts extraction speed in response to grow room temperature — running at minimum speed in cool conditions and ramping up proportionally as temperature rises. This set-and-forget climate management approach maintains consistent grow room conditions without manual fan speed adjustment, making it particularly valuable in larger installations where manual intervention is impractical.

How the Integrated Thermostat Controls Your Grow Room Climate

The AirFan Thermo’s onboard thermostat continuously samples air temperature at the fan inlet and compares it to the user-set target. When temperature climbs above the set point, the EC motor ramps speed proportionally — faster the hotter it gets — pulling more air through the grow room and increasing heat removal and fresh air exchange. When temperature drops back to the set point, fan speed reduces, saving energy and reducing noise. Unlike simple on/off thermostatic controllers, this proportional control approach prevents the temperature swings and noise peaks associated with fans cycling fully on and off. The 200mm bore and 1,000 m³/h maximum airflow make this model suited to medium-sized grow rooms — commercial tents from 2.4m² to approximately 9m² depending on heat load and ducting resistance.

Installation, Ducting and Compatibility

Install inline on 200mm extraction ductwork between your carbon filter and the exhaust outlet. The integrated temperature sensor requires no external probe or controller — simply set your target temperature on the unit’s control panel and the fan manages the rest. Compatible with standard 200mm aluminium ducting and CAN or Phresh 200mm carbon filters. For odour control, pair with a Phresh Filter 200mm. For noise reduction, add a CAN Silencer 200mm inline on the exhaust side.
