Description
The NEWA MJ1000 Water Pump delivers 1,000 litres per hour maximum flow rate with 150cm maximum head height, providing the circulation performance needed for medium-sized hydroponic systems, active aquaponic setups, and indoor growing applications where consistent, reliable water movement is critical to plant health and system performance. The NEWA MJ series uses magnetic drive technology to eliminate shaft seals — the most common failure point in conventional pump designs — producing a more reliable, longer-lasting pump that maintains consistent flow rates throughout its operational life.
Magnetic Drive Technology and Why It Matters
Conventional submersible pumps use a rotating shaft that passes through a sealed housing into the water. The seals at this shaft penetration point are subject to continuous wear in submersible operation and are the primary cause of pump failure over time. As seals degrade, water enters the motor housing, causing electrical failure. NEWA’s magnet drive design eliminates this sealed shaft penetration entirely. The impeller is driven by a magnetic coupling — a rotor inside the pump housing is driven magnetically by an external motor without any physical shaft connection and without any moving parts penetrating the housing. There are no seals to wear. The result is a pump that maintains its performance characteristics over a substantially longer service life than equivalent conventional shaft-drive designs. For hydroponic growers where pump reliability is critical — system failure means plants go without water within hours — this engineering advantage has real practical value. We have been supplying NEWA pumps to our customers at The Horticulture Company since 2017 and the reliability record has been excellent.
MJ1000 Applications and Specifications
At 1,000 litres per hour, the MJ1000 suits medium recirculating systems, reservoirs up to 75 litres, and flood-and-drain growing tables of medium footprint. It handles the head pressure of lifting nutrient solution to elevated growing positions while maintaining adequate flow rate. Submersible operation, adjustable flow via the included regulator, and quiet magnetic drive operation make it a versatile choice for a range of growing applications.
