Description

Hailea HX2500 Water Pump is a high-capacity submersible circulation and irrigation pump that we have been supplying to UK commercial and large-scale hydroponic growers since 2017. With a maximum flow rate of 2,500 litres per hour, the HX2500 is designed for demanding applications where high-volume nutrient delivery, rapid flood cycles or large-reservoir recirculation requires a pump that can handle sustained high-output operation. It is one of the most powerful pumps we stock for single-unit deployment in a grow room environment.

Applications and System Sizing for the HX2500

The HX2500 is the pump of choice for large flood and drain systems with multiple trays, high-volume NFT installations, large recirculating DWC arrays and commercial-scale drip systems feeding 20 or more plants from a centralised reservoir. At 2,500 L/hr, it fills a 200-litre tray system in under 5 minutes, ensuring uniform saturation before the drain cycle begins. In NFT systems serving long channel runs or multiple parallel channels, the HX2500 maintains the consistent flow rate required across all channels simultaneously. The pump features a large-bore 25mm outlet, a robust sealed motor rated for continuous submersed operation and a foam pre-filter that protects the impeller from debris in working reservoirs. A flow adjuster allows output to be throttled back for smaller systems without introducing the motor stress associated with running against a closed valve.

Installation, Maintenance and Operational Notes

Install with the foam pre-filter fully seated and submerged. Clean the filter every 7–14 days to maintain maximum flow. Use the full 25mm outlet bore where possible — reducing to 13mm pipework on a 2,500 L/hr pump causes significant back-pressure and reduces effective output substantially. Connect via a heavy-duty digital timer rated for the pump’s power draw. Do not run dry even briefly. Pair with a DS1000 low-level pump for reservoir empty-down and a digital timer for reliable automated flood and drain scheduling.
