Dr Hydro Mildew Protection Spray 500ml Concentrate is a targeted fungicide that we have been supplying to UK growers since 2017 as a first-line defence against powdery mildew — one of the most prevalent and damaging fungal diseases in indoor growing environments. Powdery mildew spreads rapidly through grow rooms, coating leaf surfaces with white powdery mycelium and severely compromising photosynthesis, plant vigour and final harvest quality. Early, consistent treatment with an effective fungicide is critical to maintaining crop health.

How Dr Hydro Mildew Spray Controls Powdery Mildew

The formulation uses a contact and systemic mode of action that disrupts cell membrane function in fungal spores and mycelium on contact while providing short-term residual protection against re-infection. The spreading agent in the concentrate ensures thorough coverage across waxy leaf surfaces, which are notoriously difficult to wet evenly. Unlike sulphur-based fungicides, Dr Hydro Mildew Spray does not produce the heat risk associated with sulphur vaporisers, making it safe to use in occupied grow rooms. We recommend beginning treatment at the first white spot appearance rather than waiting for widespread infection — early intervention dramatically reduces the labour and product required to achieve control.

Dilution, Application and Prevention Strategy

Dilute at the manufacturer’s recommended rate (typically 5–10 ml per litre) and apply as a fine, even mist to all foliage, covering both upper and lower leaf surfaces thoroughly. Apply during lights-off or low-light conditions to minimise phytotoxicity risk. Repeat every 5–7 days until the infection is cleared. For preventive use in high-humidity environments, apply every 10–14 days throughout vegetative growth. Do not apply in late flowering unless absolutely necessary. To prevent resistance development, rotate with other modes of action. Improve environmental conditions — reduce humidity below 50% RH, increase air circulation — alongside chemical treatment for best outcomes. Pair with a quality inline extraction fan and carbon filter to maintain optimal grow room conditions.
