Description
RESERVOIR 300L INC LID AND TAP is the large-capacity nutrient storage and mixing tank that forms the backbone of any serious recirculating or top-feed hydroponic system. We have been supplying reservoir tanks to UK hydroponics growers since 2017, and the 300-litre capacity with included lid and tap represents a significant step up from standard 47-litre or 100-litre units — purpose-built for growers running large-scale DWC, RDWC, NFT, or flood-and-drain systems where reservoir volume directly impacts how long your nutrient solution stays fresh and how stable your EC and pH remain between checks.
Why Reservoir Volume Matters for Serious Grows
Smaller reservoirs experience rapid fluctuations in EC, pH, and temperature as plants consume water and nutrients and as ambient temperatures change through the day-night cycle. A 300-litre reservoir buffers these fluctuations dramatically — the larger water mass maintains temperature more consistently, nutrient ratios remain stable for longer as the volume consumed by plants is proportionally smaller, and pH drift is slower and more manageable. For growers running eight or more large plants in a recirculating system, a 300-litre reservoir also means fewer nutrient mixing sessions per week, reducing labour and the chance of human error in measurement and mixing. The included lid prevents evaporation and light entry that would trigger algae growth, and the tap makes draining for reservoir changes clean and practical.
Setting Up and Maintaining Your 300L Reservoir
Position the reservoir at the lowest point in your system to allow gravity-assisted drainage from growing channels, tables, or DWC buckets. Ensure the base is level so the tap functions correctly and the float valve (if fitted) reads accurately. Circulate the reservoir solution with a small submersible pump or air stones to maintain oxygenation and prevent nutrient stratification. Change the full reservoir every seven to ten days in active systems and clean with a reservoir cleaning agent between each refill to prevent biofilm build-up in the tank walls and tap housing.
Pair your Reservoir 300L with a submersible pump, an air pump and air stones, and your preferred base nutrient system — CANNA Aqua or Shogun Samurai — for a complete large-scale hydroponic infrastructure setup.
