Description
The ULIM 160W Uplight LED is a high-efficiency LED grow light engineered for the demands of serious indoor cultivation, delivering broad-spectrum photosynthetically active radiation across the full footprint of a standard-sized growing area. ULIM has developed the Uplight range around a commitment to providing genuine, measurable performance in a design that maximises the usable light output reaching plant canopies — the photons that actually drive photosynthesis, growth, and flowering.
Full-Spectrum LED for Every Stage of Growth
The ULIM 160W Uplight uses a full-spectrum diode array that covers the complete photosynthetically active radiation range from deep blue through red wavelengths, with a white spectrum that provides the full complement of wavelengths plants use throughout their development. This full-spectrum approach means the Uplight handles both vegetative and flowering stages effectively — unlike narrower-spectrum early LED designs that compromised one growth stage or the other. The 160W power draw delivers a substantial photon output while running significantly cooler than HPS equivalents and consuming far less energy. At The Horticulture Company we have been testing and recommending LED grow lights since the technology reached the performance levels required to compete with HPS. The ULIM Uplight represents the current state of the art in this power class — the efficiency, spectrum, and build quality all reflect the maturity that LED grow light technology has reached.
Coverage, Mounting, and Practical Specifications
At 160W, the ULIM Uplight is suited to grow spaces from 80cm x 80cm up to 1.0m x 1.0m as a primary flowering light, and can cover larger areas for vegetative growing where slightly lower intensity is acceptable. The fixture mounts from a central hanging point using the included hangers, with the light-emitting surface facing downward toward the canopy. The low-profile design allows the fixture to be positioned close to the canopy without thermal concerns, maximising the photon delivery efficiency. Dimming capability allows light intensity to be adjusted for different growth stages, from gentle propagation lighting through to maximum flowering output.
