Description

The 6mm supply line is the final stage before the AQUAvalve — the narrow tube that delivers nutrient solution from the 9mm secondary line into each individual tray. The 6mm Cross Connector creates a four-way junction in that line, letting one 6mm feed split to supply multiple tray inlets or branch in different directions across the system layout.

Push-fit on standard 6mm Autopot tubing. The cross gives you one inlet and three outlets — or two-and-two in a bridge configuration depending on how you route the lines. Keep outlet line lengths equal to maintain balanced flow across the connected points.

Used wherever the 6mm feed network needs to branch within a larger Autopot installation. Not needed in simple one-to-one tray connections — it becomes relevant when running multiple trays off a shared 9mm secondary line.

Planning the branching structure of a multi-tray Autopot layout before installation avoids a common frustration — running out of connector points partway through a build, or ending up with an unbalanced layout where some trays receive feed less reliably than others because of uneven line lengths from the branch point. When adding a cross connector to an already-running system, isolate that section with an inline valve first if one is fitted, or be prepared for a brief interruption to flow while you make the connection, since the 6mm line will be under whatever gravity pressure the tank height creates. Push-fit connections make the physical work quick, but take the time to check each of the four connection points is fully seated — a connector that looks connected but isn’t fully pushed home is one of the more common causes of a slow, hard-to-diagnose leak in an otherwise correctly assembled system.

Keep a couple of spare connectors on hand if you’re running a larger Autopot layout — cross connectors are inexpensive relative to the cost of a delayed watering cycle, and having a spare avoids downtime if one is ever damaged during a system reconfiguration.

At a glance:

  • 4-way junction for the 6mm Autopot supply line
  • Splits one feed to multiple tray inlets
  • Push-fit on standard 6mm tubing
  • Keep outlet lengths equal for balanced flow
