Description
AUTOPOT REDUCER CROSS 13mm-4mm is the essential connector fitting that allows growers to integrate 4mm micro-irrigation tubing into the standard 13mm AutoPot distribution network. We have been supplying AutoPot system components and accessories to UK growers since 2017, and the reducer cross is one of those small parts that makes a surprisingly large difference to how flexibly you can configure an AutoPot setup across differently sized pots and growing spaces.
Understanding the Reducer Cross and Where It Fits
AutoPot systems use 13mm main distribution pipe to carry nutrient solution from the header tank to each individual AQUAvalve. The reducer cross creates a four-way junction in the 13mm line while simultaneously providing a stepped-down 4mm outlet — useful when you want to add a secondary drip feed point, connect a monitoring probe, or branch off to a smaller auxiliary container such as a seedling tray or a single small pot. The cross fitting is push-fit on the 13mm side for fast, tool-free installation and a secure, drip-free seal. Having spares of these connectors means any expansion or modification to your AutoPot layout can be done immediately without waiting for a delivery.
Building and Expanding Your AutoPot System
AutoPot systems are modular by design — one of the key reasons we recommend them to growers who want to scale up gradually. Start with a basic 4-pot system connected to a 47-litre tank and expand by adding modules as needed, with reducer crosses and Y-connectors allowing you to branch the main supply line to reach new pot positions. Ensure all joints are pushed fully home and check the line for drips when first pressurising the system with water. AutoPot AQUAvalves operate by gravity feed, so the header tank should sit at least 20–30cm above the highest pot position for reliable flow rate.
Keep your AutoPot system running perfectly with a stock of AutoPot Reducer Crosses, AQUAvalves, and 13mm distribution pipe alongside your header tank and pot modules.
