Why pH Measurement Accuracy Determines Nutrient Availability

In hydroponic and coco growing, nutrient availability is critically dependent on solution pH. Each mineral nutrient has an optimal pH range within which it is fully soluble and plant-available — outside this range, it precipitates or forms insoluble compounds that roots cannot absorb, causing deficiency symptoms even when the nutrient is present in the solution at adequate concentration. The target pH range for coco and hydroponic growing (5.8–6.2) falls within a narrow window where all essential nutrients are simultaneously available at adequate concentrations.
