Description

The Bluelab EC/PPM Truncheon is the industry-standard handheld electrical conductivity and TDS meter for nutrient solution monitoring in hydroponic and soil-based growing systems. Manufactured in New Zealand by Bluelab, the Truncheon has earned its reputation over decades of professional use in commercial greenhouses and serious indoor growing operations worldwide for its exceptional accuracy, zero-calibration design, and near-indestructible build quality.

EC (electrical conductivity) is the primary tool for monitoring total dissolved nutrient concentration in a feed solution. The Truncheon displays simultaneously in EC (mS/cm), PPM 500 (US scale), and PPM 700 (European scale), covering every standard used by different nutrient manufacturers without requiring scale switching.

The zero-calibration design is one of the Truncheon’s most practical advantages. Unlike probe-based EC meters that require regular recalibration with reference solutions to maintain accuracy, the Truncheon uses a conductivity cell design that maintains factory calibration accuracy throughout its service life. Simply dip the sealed probe end into the nutrient solution, read the LED display, and you have a measurement you can trust. The fully waterproof and sealed housing makes it immune to the humid, splash-prone conditions of a grow room.
