Description

CANNA CalMag Agent is CANNA’s dedicated calcium and magnesium supplement, formulated specifically to address the calcium and magnesium shortfalls that occur when growing with reverse osmosis water, soft tap water, or in coco coir — situations where standard base nutrients may not supply sufficient levels of these critical secondary macronutrients to meet the elevated demands of intensively grown indoor crops. CalMag Agent provides highly available calcium and magnesium in a formulation calibrated to the chemistry of CANNA’s growing systems.

When CalMag Supplementation Is Needed

Calcium and magnesium deficiencies are among the most common nutritional problems in indoor growing, but they are frequently misdiagnosed or attributed to other causes. Understanding when and why they occur helps target supplementation correctly. Reverse osmosis filtration removes virtually all dissolved minerals — the RO water that many professional growers use as their baseline has essentially zero calcium and magnesium, creating an immediate requirement for supplementation on top of whatever the base nutrient provides. UK soft water areas — much of Scotland, Wales, and northern England — have low natural calcium and magnesium hardness. Plants grown rapidly under high-intensity lighting have elevated calcium and magnesium demand relative to what standard growing practices assume. Coco coir’s cation exchange capacity competes with plant roots for calcium from the nutrient solution — fresh coco can absorb significant calcium before it reaches the root zone, causing deficiency even when solution calcium concentrations appear adequate. CANNA CalMag Agent provides a pre-calibrated solution to all of these situations in a formulation designed to work seamlessly with CANNA Coco A&B and other CANNA base nutrients. Dosage and Application

Add CANNA CalMag Agent to water at 1–2ml per litre before adding other nutrients. Use throughout the growing cycle wherever calcium and magnesium supplementation is required. For new coco substrate, use at the higher dosage for the first two to three weeks before reducing to maintenance levels.
