Description

HAILEA HX800 is the high-output submersible pump from Hailea’s reliable HX series, widely used by UK hydroponics growers in flood-and-drain systems, recirculating DWC setups, and nutrient delivery applications where a dependable, consistent flow rate is required. We have been supplying Hailea pumps to UK growers since 2017 because their combination of reliable performance, quiet operation, and long service life make them one of the best-value pump ranges available for the home and small-commercial grower.

Hailea HX800 Specifications and Applications

The HX800 provides a flow rate of approximately 800 litres per hour at zero head pressure, making it well-suited for flood-and-drain tables of up to 1.0m x 1.0m, recirculating reservoirs up to 200 litres, and top-feed drip systems supplying up to twelve growing sites. The pump is fully submersible, rated for continuous operation in nutrient solution, and features an adjustable flow valve that allows growers to reduce output when the full rate is more than the system requires. The magnetic drive impeller design minimises heat transfer from the motor into the solution — an important consideration in warm summer conditions when reservoir temperature management is critical for root health.

Installation and Maintenance

Place the HX800 at the base of your sump reservoir, inlet facing downward, and connect the outlet to your distribution pipe or flood table inlet. Ensure the pump is fully submerged at all times during operation — running dry even briefly degrades the impeller seal and reduces pump life. Clean the impeller and filter sponge every three to four weeks by removing the pump from the reservoir, disassembling the filter housing, and rinsing under clean water. Soak in a citric acid solution monthly to dissolve calcium and magnesium scale that accumulates on the impeller face. Replace the pump after approximately 18–24 months of continuous use or when flow rate drops significantly after cleaning.

Pair the Hailea HX800 with a flood-and-drain tray, a timer, and your preferred recirculating base nutrient system for a reliable, productive growing setup built on proven pump technology.
