Description

Insulated Ducting 315mm (12″) is large-diameter acoustically and thermally insulated flexible duct for high-volume grow room extraction systems where both noise reduction and heat management are priorities. Acoustic and Thermal Insulation for Professional Extraction

Standard flexible aluminium ducting transmits both fan noise and heat from the air passing through it directly to the surrounding environment — a significant issue in grow rooms housed in residential or noise-sensitive locations. Insulated ducting wraps the inner aluminium duct in a layer of mineral wool or foam insulation covered by an outer aluminium or woven jacket. This insulation serves two functions simultaneously: it absorbs and dampens the airflow noise transmitted through the duct wall, reducing the audible noise at any point along the ducting run; and it prevents heat exchange between the hot extracted air and the cooler surrounding space, keeping extracted air hot until it exits the system and preventing condensation on external duct surfaces in cold conditions.

The 315mm diameter is suited to the largest grow room ventilation setups — commercial-scale grow rooms, multiple-room extraction systems, or any application where a single large-diameter duct is preferred over multiple smaller parallel ducts for a high total airflow requirement. At this diameter, the 315mm insulated duct can handle the airflow of the largest available inline fans without adding significant back pressure.

Installation and System Design

Route insulated ducting with minimal bends and the shortest practical run length to maximise airflow performance. Secure connections to fan flanges and filter collars with aluminium tape and Fast Clamps. Support at regular intervals along the run to prevent sagging that would create low points where condensate could accumulate.

Compatible with 315mm diameter fans, carbon filters and ducting connectors. Pairs with Systemair RVK or Isomax fans and CarboAir or Dutch Touch Pro carbon filters for a complete high-performance extraction system.
