MANTIS REFLECTOR WITH LEAD is the compact, highly reflective grow room lamp shade designed for growers who need reliable, well-distributed light output from a standard HPS or MH lamp without the cost or complexity of a premium wing reflector. How a Quality Reflector Improves Light Distribution

A bare HPS lamp wastes a significant proportion of its output in directions other than downward toward the canopy — upward, sideways, and rearward. A reflector intercepts this light and redirects it downward, effectively increasing the usable light reaching the canopy from the same lamp wattage. The Mantis uses a formed aluminium reflector with a highly polished interior surface to maximise reflectivity — typically 90–95% of incident light is redirected downward rather than being absorbed by the reflector material. The result is a meaningfully higher PPFD at canopy level compared to a tent lit with the same lamp operating without a reflector, which directly translates to improved growth rate and yield potential.

Installation and Practical Considerations

The Mantis Reflector With Lead includes a pre-fitted lamp cord, making installation straightforward — connect to your ballast, hang from rope ratchets, and install your lamp. The compact format suits grow tents where the footprint of a larger wing reflector would restrict airflow around the lamp body. Position the lamp at the appropriate distance for your wattage — 40–50cm for 400W, 50–65cm for 600W — and adjust throughout the grow cycle to maintain this distance as plants develop. Clean the reflector interior between cycles with a dry lint-free cloth to remove dust deposits that reduce reflectivity over time.
