How Silicon Builds Stronger, More Resilient Plants

Silicon is absorbed through the roots and incorporated into cell walls and the epidermal cuticle layer of leaves and stems, creating a physical barrier that improves resistance on multiple fronts simultaneously. The thickened cell wall structure increases stem strength and branch load-bearing capacity — an important benefit during flowering when heavy flower development can cause stem bending or breakage without mechanical support. The reinforced leaf cuticle resists penetration by sucking insects including spider mites and thrips, and the same physical barrier limits the penetration depth of fungal hyphae attempting to establish powdery mildew infections on leaf surfaces.

Application Guidelines

Add Shogun Silicon to your reservoir or feed water before adding base nutrients — silicon is strongly alkaline and should be diluted in water first to stabilise pH before the rest of your feeding programme is mixed. Apply at 0.5–1ml per litre throughout vegetative growth and into the first half of flowering. Discontinue in the final three to four weeks of bloom. Monitor pH carefully after adding silicon as it raises pH significantly at higher doses.
