Description

Soft Garden Tie is a flexible, padded plant training tie used to secure stems, branches and vines to support stakes, trellis nets and grow structures without causing the bruising, constriction or cutting damage that rigid wire ties, zip ties or string can inflict on plant tissue under tension. We have been supplying plant training accessories to UK cultivators since 2017 as practical, gentle tools for the training techniques that maximise yield from indoor growing spaces.

Gentle Support That Grows With Your Plants

As plants grow and their stems thicken during training, rigid or inelastic ties become progressively tighter around the stem, eventually cutting into the soft outer bark tissue and restricting the vascular flow of water, nutrients and sugars between roots and growing tips. This constriction stress reduces plant performance in proportion to its severity and can cause serious lasting damage if undetected. Soft garden ties stretch with stem growth, maintaining gentle contact rather than rigid constriction — safe for long-term attachment across multiple weeks of active growth without requiring the constant monitoring and loosening that standard ties demand.

The padded foam or fabric cushioning between the wire core and plant stem adds a layer of protection against the hard wire digging into tender stem tissue even before the tie becomes tight, making soft ties the appropriate choice for young plants with thin, delicate stems as well as for longer-term training arrangements on established plants.

Application in Plant Training

Use soft garden ties for LST (low-stress training) work, tying stems to bamboo or plastic support stakes, securing branches to trellis netting during SCROG training, and any application where a plant tie will remain in position for more than a few days. Cut to length with scissors for different tie lengths. Available in rolls for flexible use across different training tasks and plant sizes.
