The square format maximises space efficiency in grow tents and commercial growing areas — square pots tile together without gaps, allowing a given floor area to be fully utilised with no dead space between containers. The 25-litre volume provides the substrate capacity required for large plants through full vegetative and flowering cycles, giving roots the room they need to develop the extensive architecture that supports maximum yield potential.

Why Square Pots and 25 Litre Volume Make a Difference to Yields

Container shape and volume are frequently underestimated variables in growing performance. Round pots of equivalent volume waste approximately 21% of available grow room floor space compared to square containers — in a 1.2m² grow tent, this difference is meaningful. More importantly, the root system in a square pot develops into all four corners of the container, creating a more uniformly distributed root ball that accesses the full volume of growing medium. In round pots, roots tend to circle the inside wall — a behaviour that can cause root binding and uneven medium utilisation in large containers. The 25-litre volume is the recommended size for plants grown to full expression in a single flowering cycle — enough substrate to sustain a large plant through 8–10 weeks of flowering without becoming root-bound or requiring mid-cycle transplanting.

System Compatibility and Growing Medium Recommendations

The Wilma 25L square pot is dimensioned for direct compatibility with the Wilma 4-pot and larger drip system frameworks, fitting the drip irrigation layout precisely. It is also suitable for standalone use with hand-watering or other automated irrigation systems. Use with any growing medium — coco coir, clay pebbles, soil or perlite blends. For Wilma system use, pair with a Wilma drip system, a suitable submersible pump and SHOGUN or Plagron coco or hydro nutrients for a complete growing solution.
