CANNA Vega Start is a specially formulated starter nutrient developed by CANNA for the early vegetative phase of growing — the critical first two to four weeks when seedlings and recently rooted cuttings are establishing their root systems, developing their first true leaves, and building the structural foundation for the rapid growth that follows. Vega Start provides a gentler, more carefully calibrated nutrition than full-strength vegetative nutrients, protecting vulnerable young plants from the nutrient stress that can occur when standard adult-dose nutrients are applied to plants whose root systems are not yet developed enough to handle them.

Why Young Plants Need Different Nutrition

The nutritional requirements of a seedling or newly rooted cutting are fundamentally different from those of an established vegetating plant. Young plants have small, developing root systems with limited surface area for nutrient uptake. The cellular machinery for handling high concentrations of mineral ions is not fully developed. How to Use CANNA Vega Start

Use from first transplant through to the point where plants show vigorous established growth — typically two to four weeks. Mix at 10ml per 10 litres. pH-adjust to the appropriate range for your growing medium. Transition to CANNA Terra Vega or Canna Coco once plants are actively growing and the root system is visible through the bottom of the propagation container.
