Description

Canna Coco Professional Plus 50 Litre is the premium pre-washed and pre-buffered coco coir substrate from Canna, supplied in the large 50-litre format ideal for filling multiple containers or setting up a complete coco growing system. Made from 100% selected coir fibres engineered through Canna’s production process, it delivers consistent performance from the very first feed without the conditioning required by lower-grade coco products.

Raw coco coir is naturally high in sodium and potassium from its coastal origin, creating problems if not properly removed. Canna’s washing process eliminates this contamination, and subsequent buffering with calcium pre-saturates the substrate’s naturally high cation exchange sites. This prevents the disproportionate calcium and magnesium absorption that unbuffered coco exhibits in early growth — a common cause of deficiencies when using inferior substrates. The result is a stable growing medium with EC below 0.6 mS/cm and pH balanced at 5.5 to 7.0. The substrate also contains a naturally occurring Trichoderma inoculant that colonises the root zone and provides a protective barrier against root pathogens including pythium. Combined with 73% water retention and 27% air-filled porosity, it supports vigorous root development and efficient nutrient uptake from propagation through to harvest.
