Description

Combi Ducting 200mm (8″) is a flexible aluminium spiral-wire reinforced duct for grow room extraction systems, providing the lightweight, flexible routing characteristics of standard aluminium duct in the 200mm diameter commonly used with medium-scale inline fans. We have been supplying Combi ducting to UK growers since 2017 as a reliable, practical flexible ducting option for ventilation system construction across a wide range of grow room sizes.

Flexible Aluminium Ducting for Mid-Sized Extraction Systems

Combi flexible aluminium ducting is the standard material for connecting inline fans to carbon filters and routing extraction airflows through grow rooms and out of buildings. The spiral wire reinforcement prevents the duct from collapsing under the negative pressure of a running extraction fan — a common failure mode of lightweight non-reinforced aluminium foil products that reduces airflow and in severe cases completely blocks the extraction path. The aluminium construction is chemically resistant to the slightly acidic, nutrient-laden air found in grow room environments, and does not absorb odours or harbour pathogens the way some plastic ducting alternatives can.

The 200mm diameter is compatible with the RVK 200L1 and equivalent medium-output inline fans, providing airflow capacities appropriate for grow rooms of 1.5m x 1.5m to 2.4m x 2.4m depending on ceiling height and equipment heat load. For lower-noise applications, upgrade to the equivalent insulated ducting size for the same diameter run.

Installation Tips

Keep runs as short and straight as possible for maximum airflow. Use Fast Clamps and aluminium tape at all joints for an airtight, secure installation. Avoid tight bends that partially collapse the duct internal cross-section — maintain a bend radius of at least 1.5x the duct diameter wherever direction changes are unavoidable.
